Dan Markham, former resident of Cox Creek township, died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. J. Kelly, at Bellevue. The funeral will be held at Bellevue at 9 o'clock Thursday morning, and burial will be at Cox Creek cemetery.

VOLGA CITY: Services for Daniel Timothy Markham, 72, were held Thursday at 9 a.m. at St. Joseph's church in Bellevue. The Rt. Rev. Msgr. J. E. Linkenmeyer, pastor, officiated. Burial was in Cox Creek cemetery.
Mr. Markham died at 6 p.m. last Monday at the home of his son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Jay Kelly at Bellevue. He had been in poor health for three years. He was born at Strawberry Point, the son of James and Alice Markham. In 1900, he was married to Irene Lamphier. In 1936, he moved to a farm near Dubuque. He was a member of Sacred Heart parish in Dubuque.
Survivors include two sons, Lloyd, of near Dubuque, and Clark, of Charleston, Ind.; one daughter, Mrs. Kelly of Bellevue, and three sisters, Mrs. Sly Pluff, Oshkosh, Wis.; Mrs. Rose Wilson, Aurora, Ill.; and Mrs. Cal McArthur, Chicago, and several grandchildren.
At one time Mr. Markham resided in Volga, when the Kellys lived here.
