Clayton County Register, 10 Feb. 1955.

Dillis Daisy Hook Jones, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Hook was born Aug. 04, 1903, and died at her home in Elkader after a six months illness.

Mrs. Jones spent all of her life in Elkader. She attended grade and high school here and for the last eight years worked at the Ben Franklin store as a clerk.

On June 20, 1951, she was married to Clifford Jones.

Her father, John Hook and a brother, Floyd LeRoy Hook, preceded her in death.

She is survived by her husband, Clifford Jones, her mother, Mrs. John Hook, a son, by a previous marriage, Duane L. Hass of Chicago, Ill.

She was a member of the Peace Evangelical and Reformed church of Elkader and the Royal Neighbor lodge.

Funeral services were held Saturday, Feb. 05, at the Peace Evangelical and Reformed church with the Rev. Paul Kitterer officiating. Burial was at the Farmersburg and Wagner cemetery.

Pallbearers were: Avron Oleson, Martin Penneton, Charles Taylor, Emmett Whalen, Carl Roeder, and Don Wolf.

Relatives from a distance who attended the funeral were: Duane and Joan Hass, Chicago, Ill.; Mrs. Ruth Kruse, Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Schmitt and family, Mr. and Mrs. Harley Jones, all of Dubuque; Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Jones, Waukon; Mr. and Mrs. Harry Schievelbein, Postville; Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Moon, LaCrosse, Wis., and Mr. and Mrs. Leo Moon, Prairie du Chien, Wis.
