Froehle, Edmund 'Ed' died 1953

Clayton County Register, 17 Dec. 1953.

Ed Froehle, 52, bachelor living at his farm southwest of Millville, was found dead at his home at 1:30 Monday afternoon apparently the victim of a gunshot accident.

The tragedy was discovered by a Dubuque deer hunter who had stopped at the farm for an intended deer hunt with Froehle. It appeared that Froehle had been in the act of cleaning his gun when the weapon was discharged into his body.

Coroner E. W. Tuecke, who investigated, listed the case as accidental death.

Note: Burial is in Holy Trinity cemetery, Luxemberg, Dubuque co. Iowa. Name on gravestone is Edmund Froehle
