Mrs. Mary Gentz, 75, died Friday, Nov. 27. The body was taken to the Rhines funeral home in Edgewood and later returned to the family home in Littleport. Funeral services were held from the family home to the Lutheran church at Littleport at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, Dec. 01, with the Rev. Tillmanns officiating. Burial was made in the family lot at Strawberry Point cemetery. Casket bearers were Joe B___, Fred Smith, Joe Burgin, Fred Sheer, Fred Boege and Harold Liddy.

Henrietta Lena Bottleman, daughter of Herman and Marie Bottleman was born Aug. 08, 1878, in Clayton county near Mederville. She was baptized June 22, 1879 and confirmed in the Lutheran faith, April 12, 1912, at Northwood, Iowa. (At this point it appears her marriage information is absent. This paragraph continues...) Their early married life was spent farming near Northwood. Two children were born to them, a son, Harold and a daughter Rubie.

In 1918 they moved to Clayton county, Iowa near Edgewood where they have made their home since.

Mrs. Gentz became very ill in January and never recovered from that illness. On Sunday, Nov. 22, she suffered a stroke and died on Friday, Nov. 27, at 1:00 p.m., at the age of 75 years, 3 months and 19 days.

Survivors are her husband John, a son Harold of Elkader, a daughter Rubie (Mrs. Mervin Waring) of Arlington, six grandchildren, (one grandchild preceded her in death) a twin sister, Lea_ Stone of Edgewood, a brother, John Bottleman, of Belleview, Fla., as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
