The death of Fred Elias Pardee, 77, occurred Sunday morning, Dec. 20, 1953, at his home in Volga following an extended illness.
Fred, son of Elias and Eleanor Roe Pardee, was born at Arlington, Iowa, on Feb. 24, 1876. On Dec. 20, 1900, he was married to Miss Emma Samp at Elkader, Iowa, after which the couple made their home in the Vicinity of Volga for the most part of their lives.
He is survived by his wife, Emma, three sons, Elias of Oelwein; Dean, of Volga, and Donald of Des Moines; one daughter, Mrs. Chris (Mildred) Fischer, Garnavillo; several grandchildren, and one sister, Mrs. Fred (Jeanette) Chapman, of Waterloo.
He was preceded in death by a son, Kenneth, one brother, Ernest, and one sister, Jessie.
Services were held Tuesday at 2 p.m. at the presbyterian church, with the pastor, Charles Carlston, officiating.
Casket bearers were Elias, Dean and Donald Pardee, Chris Flscher, John J. Conboy and Albert Duff.
Burial was in Hill Crest cemetery, Volga.
