William L. Krieg, 86, retired farmer and blacksmith, died here on the morning of Nov. 12 at 7:30 a.m. following a long illness. He had been in a coma since Monday of last week. Mr. Krieg came here to make his home in December, 1948. Born Feb. 27, 1867, in Elkport, Iowa, he farmed for many years on his farm just outside of Volga.

He is survived by six children; Hazel Kreig of Denver, Colo.; Harold of Elkader; Leo of Chicago; William Jr. of Las Vegas, Nevada; and Frank and Harry of Waterloo.

Funeral services were held at 9:30 a.m. at the Sacred Heart church in Volga Saturday, Nov. 14.
