Funeral services for Charles Heiden, 78, were held at the Witt Funeral chapel at 2:00 o'clock, Sunday, Dec. 26, the Rev. Paul Kitterer officiating. Burial was in the East Sise cemetery.

Charles Heiden, the son of Fritz and Doris Mae Meyer Heiden, was born April 08, 1870 in Cox Creek township and died December 23, 1948 on the same farm on which he had lived his entire life with the exception of one year spent in Sioux county, Iowa. He farmed the home place until a number of years ago, when because of ill health, he retired from active work. He rented the land but remained in the farm home with his sister, Amelia, who died October 12, 1948.

He was a member of the Peace Evangelical and Reformed church.

He is survived by two sisters Mrs. George (Carrie) Feller of Osborne; and Mrs. George (Gusta) Cassidy, Elkader and several nieces and nephews. His parents, five sisters and two brothers preceded him in death.

Pallbearers were, George Behn, Miles Scott, Gerald Stahl, Henry Cords, Clarence Sturm and Alfred Baars.

Relatives from a distance who attended the funeral were: James Probert, and Mr. and Mrs. Hervey Aeschliman, Wadena; Lee Aeschliman, Grand Junction, Iowa; James Probert Jr., Farmersburg; Mr. and Mrs. A. J. Cords, Pearl Cords, and Mr. and Mrs. Frank Dahlstrom, McGregor; Mrs. John Trail, Forest City; Orval Trail, Kiron, Ia.; Vern Schoepf, Minneapolis; Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Kramer, Winnebago, Ill.; Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Meyer, Garnavillo.
