James Hervey Angier died at the home of his brother, S.W. Angier at Indianola, Iowa, on Monday night, October 14 after an illness of many months. He had undergone an operation last July from which he did not recover.

He was born September 11, 1836, in Essex county, N.Y, and came with his father to Iowa in the fall of 1849. He lived in Clayton county, Iowa, until 1874, when he removed to Sac county, in which part of the country he lived until 1898, in which year he again moved, this time to Ringold county. Here he lived six years, removing from there in 1904 to Ackworth, and four years later went to East Peru, Madison county, where his home was at the time of his death.

He was married at Gerard [sic - Giard], Iowa, July 26, 1866, to Mary Ann Steele who survives him.

Of this marriage there were born three sons, William Hervey who died in 1881; Calvin Solomon, who has made his home with his parents; and Raymond, who lives in Yokum, Texas. He also leaves two brothers, S.W. Angier of Indianola, and C.E. Angier of Storm Lake, Iowa; and a sister, Mrs. Loraine Ames, of San Juan, Cal.

Mr. Angier was converted at about the age of twenty-one, but at that time united with no church. In 1866 his spiritual life was renewed, and he united with a church in Clayton county, Iowa. At the time of his death he was a member of the Methodist Episcopal church at Peru.

The funeral services was held at the home of his brother in Indianola, Rev. Charles C. Colby of the Baptist church officiating, and the remains were taken to Storm Lake, Iowa, for interment.
