Funeral services for Mrs. Juliana Werger, 76, were held Tuesday, March 16, from the Schultz Chapel, Monona, to the St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran church, Garnavillo. The Rev. A. Meyer, pastor of the church, officiated.
Mrs. Werger died Friday, March 12, after having been an invalid for the past year. She had been quite active until about five years ago when an attack of asthma left her considerably enfeebled. Recently she caught a cold which later developed into pneumonia.
She was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Gerhardt Marting and was born in Farmersburg township on March 15, 1870. She was married to Herman Werger on November 18, 1897. Two children were born to this union, Ernie, of McGregor and a son Carl who preceded her in death.
Since the death of Mr. Werger in 1925 she has made her home on her farm joining National, with Carl until his death, and the past twelve years her son Ernie has taken over management of the farm and she has made her home with them.
Surviving are her son, Ernie of McGregor, a brother, Christ Marting, Garnavillo, and a sister, Mrs. Carrie Kersten of McGregor and four grandchildren.
