Clayton County Register, 11 Mar. 1948.

Gunil Herbranson died at her home Saturday morning, March 06, 1948.

She was born in Wagner township about 3 1/2 miles west of St. Olaf on March 18, 1861. Her father and mother were both born in Norway. They came to America and after living a short time in Wisconsin they settled on the farm where Gunil was born and spent the greater part of her life.

Later they again went into the mercantile business in Preston, Minn., where they lived for several years. Then they sold out and moved to Decorah with her family. It wasn't long before she again settled on the farm where she lived until 1941 when she moved to Elkader where she has since resided.

She is survived by her two sisters, Johanna and Emma and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, March 09 at 2 o'clock from the Herbranson home. Dr. S. J. Strandjord officiated.
