Funeral services for Henry Barghahn, 52, who died at his home in Elkader at 5 o'clock Monday evening, Jan. 08, will be held at the Oelke Funeral home at 2 o'clock Thursday afternoon. The Rev. Paul Kitterer officiating. Burial will be in the East Side cemetery.

Funeral services for Henry Barghahn, 52, who died at his home in Elkader at 5 o'clock Monday evening, Jan. 08, were held from the Oelke funeral home here at 2 o'clock Thursday afternoon. The Rev. Paul Kitterer officiated. Burial was in the East Side cemetery.
Henry Barghahn, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Frantz Barghahn, was born in Read township Sept. 08, 1883.
He was a carpenter by trade.
In 1912 he was united in marriage to Miss Viva Toutsch of Elkader. To this union three children were born, Mrs. Averil Kathyrn Duncan of Strawberry Point. John Joseph Barghahn of Iowa City, and William D. Barghahn of Strawberry Point.
Surviving besides his three children are two grandchildren, Gari_ William and Alan Edward Duncan of Strawberry Point; and four brothers, John Barghahn of Elkader, William Barghahn of Madison, Wis., Charles Barghahn of Glendale, Calif., and a half-brother, George Reinke of Arizona. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother Ben, and a half-brother, Louis Reinke, and a half-sister, Anna.
Pallbearers were: Walter Saur, Ben Leonard, James Kelleher, Harold Grother, D. F. Willmes and Mike Bente.
