Funeral services for Mary Minihan, 72, who died at her home here Tuesday, May 30, were held at St. Joseph's church Friday morning. The Rt. Rev. Msgr. James P. Taken officiated at the requiem high mass. Miss Minihan died at 7:30 p.m., as the result of a cerebral hemorrhage which she suffered about one and a half years ago.
Miss Minihan was born in Highland township, Clayton County, Aug. 15, 1871, the daughter of Patrick and Mary Gaynor Minihan. She attended the rural schools in Highland township. She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Thomas, who died in infancy, and Patrick, who died in 1933, and two sisters, Anna, who died in 1929, and Katherine, Mrs. James Bergan, who died in 1940. Two sisters, Margaret and Johanna Minihan, survive.
Miss Minihan was a member of the Rosary Society, Ladies Aid and Study Club of St. Joseph's church.
Pallbearers were P. W. and Martin Minihan, Dan Barton, Jr., Joseph Leehy and Willian and Raphael Orr.
Relatives and friends from a distance who attended the funeral were James Bergan, Margaret Boland and Mr. and Mrs. H. A. Cox, all of Volga; Mr. and Mrs. Charles E. Regan of Waukon; Mr. and Mrs. Frank Leehy and son Joseph, Will Sheehy, Nellie Sullivan and James Sullivan, all of Clermont; Mrs. Ellen Van Besen and three children, Mary Ellen, George and Alphonses and Alma Schmidt, all of Decorah; Mr. and Mrs. James Munsie, daughter Florence, Mrs. Chas. Feller, Mr. and Mrs. Perry Medberry, Irene Minihan, Mrs. Martin Minihan, William and Patsy and Mrs. John Nagel, all of Elgin.
