Funeral services for Mrs. Leo Keleher, 46, who died at St. Mary's hospital in Rochester, Minn., Saturday, April 22, of peritonitis following a five days illness, were held at 10 o'clock at St. Joseph's church here Tuesday morning, April 25, The Rt. Rev. Msgr. J. P. Taken officiating. Burial was in St. Joseph's cemetery.
Mrs. Keleher, the former Lucy Cain, was born at Elkader, Iowa, June 03, 1898, the daughter of the late Patrick J. and Margaret Cain. She received her education in the rural (Cain) school, St. Joseph's school in Elkader and Clark college at Dubuque, Iowa.
Oct. 13, 1936 she was married to Leo Keleher at St. Joseph's church in Elkader. The new home was made on a farm three miles west of Elkader. Two children were born to them; Patrick William age five years and Joan Lucile five days old.
Mrs. Keleher's entire life was spent in and near Elkader. She was a member of the Christian Mothers and Daughters society and the Rosary Confraternity of St. Joseph's church.
She is survived by her husband and two children, one sister, Miss Anna Cain of Elkader. Her parents, two brothers and two sisters preceded her in death.
Pall bearers were Walter Bink, Roy Hyde, John Noggle, George Cassutt, Carl Ehrhardt and William Allen.
People from a distance who attended the funeral were Mrs. Alvin Roder of Minneapolis, Minn., Maor M. J. Curtis of Fort Snelling, Minn., Miss Ella Losch of Cheyenne, Wyo., Mrs. Frank E. Seaton, Millersburg, Iowa, Miss Wilma Wilcox, New York, N.Y., and Mr. and Mrs. J. G. Vance of Dubuque, Iowa.
