Busching, Louis William 1885 - 1944

Funeral services for Louis Busching, 58, who died at his home in Ames, Tuesday evening April 25, after several months illness were held at 2 o'clock Friday afternoon from the Witt Funeral chapel, the Rev. George Richter officiating. Burial was in the East Side cemetery.

Louis William Busching was born in Guttenberg, Iowa, July 20, 1885, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Dick Busching. At an early age his parents moved to Plainfield, Iowa, where his father still resides. Mr. Busching received his education in the country schools and at Plainfield. After completing his schooling he accepted employment in the Galloway factory at Waterloo, Iowa, where he became a skilled mechanic.

In 1915 he was married to Alta C. Witt of Elkader. Shortly after, they moved to Elkader, where he was head of the repair department of the Ford garage. Later he became manager which position he held until the business was taken over by W. H. Walch.

Since 1939 the Buschings have resided at Ames. Iowa, where they had gone to be with their son while in college and where Mr. Busching was foreman of the electric repair department for Friley Hall.

He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Alta Busching, one son, Major Richard Busching of the Army Air corps over seas, his father, Dick Busching of Plainfield, Iowa, one sister, Mrs. Julius Wedeking of Plainfield, four brothers, Irving of Clarksville, Clarence of Shell Rock, Benjamin of Waverly and George of Plainfield. His mother preceded him in death in 1940.

Pallbearers were L. D. Dittmer, G. J. Graf, Arthur Hochhaus, W. W. Davidson, W. H. Walch and E. G. Meyer.

People from a distance attending the funeral were: Dick Busching, George Busching and Mrs. Julius Wedeking, all of Plainfield, Iowa, Mr. and Mrs. Irving Busching of Shell Rock, Mr. and Mrs. Benjamin Busching of Waverly, Mr. and Mrs. George Witt of East Chicago, Ind., Mrs. Harry Roach of Eagle Grove, Mrs. Leo Densmore of Edgewood, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Wacker of St. Olaf.
