Clayton County Register, 16 Dec. 1943.

GARBER: Funeral services for Henry Wendt, who died at the Gehring hospital in Elkader Sunday evening following an operation for hernia, were held here Wednesday.

Mr. Wendt was born near Garnavillo 66 years ago. He lived there until his marriage when he moved to Mason City and St. Cloud, Minn. After the death of his wife, he came to Garber to make his home with his daughter, Mrs. Wm. Kuehl

Besides his daughter, Mr. Wendt leaves one granddaughter, Sharon; one sister, Mrs. Bertha Beaver of Bagley, Minn.; three brothers, Herman of St. Cloud, Minn., John of Nora Springs and Fred of Garnavillo. One sister, Mrs. Elizabeth Brandenberg of Garber, preceded him in death.
