Ivory, Joe 1874 - 1943

Clayton County Register, 07 Oct. 1943.

Joe Ivory, 69, died Monday after suffering a heart attack.

He was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Patrick Ivory, born at Strawberry Point, March 25, 1874. On Nov. 15, 1898 he was married to Annie Quinn of Strawberry Point.

Funeral services were held Thursday morning at 9:30. Requiem High Mass was said by the Rev. Fr. P. J. Boyle, Jack Barnes was server; Father Bohn of Lamont was in the Sanctuary; Father Brickley of Ames gave the sermon. Mrs. Marvin Berns sang accompanied by Miss Mary Cullinan. Casket bearers were Marvin Berns, George O'Brien, James Barnes, Joe Baldridge, Neal Quinn and James McTaggart. Burial was in the local cemetery.

Survivors are the widow six sons and three daughters: Lawrence, Donald and Gerald, all of Clinton, Stephen of Lamont, Gernan, in service in England, Carroll, in a Camp in Kansas, Mrs. Archie Whitman of East Chain, Minn., Mrs. Martin Murphy of Austin, Minn., and Mrs. George Pugh of Strawberry Point; five grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Mary Moyna of Strawberry Point.
