Clayton County Register, 08 July 1943.

The funeral of Oscar Knutson, 50, who died at the county home Monday, June 28, was held Friday. The body was taken from the Oelke Funeral Home here to the residence of G. Kurth at Gunder.

Funeral services were held in the Marion Lutheran church Friday afternoon, the Rev. S. J. Strandjord officiating. Burial was in the Marion Lutheran cemetery.

Mr. Knutson, the son of Guttorm and Ragnild Knutson, was born May 14, 1893, in Marion township, Clayton county. For the past 11 years he had lived at Gunder until April 07, when he was taken to the home, where he died. He had been in ill health for the past ten years.

His father and mother preceded him in death. Surviving are two sisters, Mrs. Lars Olson of Elkader and Mrs. Gottfried Kurth of Elgin.

Pallbearers were Otto Mork, Henry Vellersven, John Hellum, Ed Nelson, Alfred Kirkeberg and Gilbert Loftsgard.
