Funeral services for Arthur John Schnepf were held Tuesday, June 01, from the Oelke funeral home here to St. John's church at Garber, with the Rev. John Gaterman officiating. Burial was in Mount Harmony cemetery with the Masonic lodge in charge.
Mr. Schnepf died Friday May 28, at his home in Algona, Iowa, after an illness of about four years. He was born January 09, 1891, at Garber, the son of Conrad and Melinda Schnepf. In 1913 at Chicago, Ill., he was married to Laura Waterman. They lived in Mankato, Minn., and in 1922 moved to Algona, Iowa, which has since been their home.
Surviving are his Widow; one daughter, Miss Virginia Schnepf of Chicago; two brothers, Henry C. and George Schnepf, both of Garber; three sisters, Mrs. Alma Bricker of Forest Park, Ill.; Mrs. Lizzie Gaynor of Mason City, Iowa; and Mrs. Elsie Thomas of Winslow, Ariz.
Relatives from a distance who attended the funeral were: Mrs. Sophia Culbert of Milwaukee, Wis; Mr. and Mrs. Roy Bricker of Forest Park, Ill.; Miss Bertha Waterman of Rock Island, Ill.; Mr. and Mrs. Isaac McSperrin of Elkader; Mrs. Minnie Tindell, Mr. and Mrs. Russell Schroeder and Mrs. Lizzie Kruse all of Guttenberg; and the Misses Lu__a and Amelia Roggman and John Roggman, all of Garnavillo.
