Leonard E. Mayville, 82, died at the Lutheran Home for the Aged in Strawberry Point June 02, following a long period of failing health.

Funeral services were held here Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock, at the Witt chapel, with the Rev. Paul Kitterer, pastor of the Evangelical and Reformed church, officiating. Burial was in the East Side cemetery with the Masonic lodge in charge, of which he had been a member for over 50 years.

Mr. Mayville was born in Brown county, Wisconsin, May 07, 1861, the son of Peter and Maria Mayville. He lived in Wisconsin during his early life, coming to Volga at the age of 22 years. April 28, 1888, he was married to Lena Ehrhardt. Six children were born to them, five of whom died in infancy. One son, John, died April 14, 1928, and his wife died Sept. 30, 1935. He was the last of a family of five sons.

Surviving are one sister-in-law. Bertha Ehrhardt; two brothers-in-law, J. J. Kuehl and George Ehrhardt, and their families, and the family of E. C. Ehrhardt, also deceased.
