Clayton County Register, 10 June 1943.

Mrs. Wayne Pugh, the former Nellie Clinton, died at her home at Mederville, Saturday, June 05, after a long period of failing health.

Mrs. Pugh was born at Mederville, Jan. 16, 1875, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ed Clinton. Her father preceded her in death in 1920 and her mother in 1930.

March 28, 1896, at Littleport, she was married to Wayne Pugh. They had one child, Lorrain Pugh of Strawberry Point. Surviving are her husband and son; three grandchildren; three brothers, George and Ernest Clinton of McGregor and Charles Clinton of Ponca City, Okla.

Funeral services were held from the home at Mederville at 2 o'clock Tuesday afternoon, June 08, with the Rev. Paul Kitterer of the Friedens Evangelical and Reformed church of Elkader officiating. Burial was in the Mederville cemetery. Pallbearers were: Ed Hakert, Walter Schultz, Warren Hughes, Otto Hakert, Henry Fritz and Christ Wacker.
