Dyer Hall, 76, died Tuesday morning, May 18, at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Vern Dalen. Funeral services were held at the St. Mary's Catholic church Thursday morning at nine o'clock, the Rev. Father Hintgen of Edgewood in charge. Burial was in the cemetery near Elkport.
The son of Elias and Hannah Hall, he was born June 29, 1866, near Elkport. Feb. 11, 1889, he was married to Margaret McMorrow. The couple has engaged in Farming in the Elkport and Strawberry Point vicinities until their retirement in 1937, and have since resided with their daughter, Mrs. Vern Dalen, and family. In 1939, the couple celebrated their fiftieth anniversary.
Surviving are his wife, two sons, Alfred of Elkport and Clarence of Mason City; two daughters, Mrs. Mike Leonard of Elkader and Mrs. Vern Dalen of Strawberry Point; and one sister, Mrs. Nettie Ennis of Edgewood. There are also 13 grandchildren and three great-grandchilden.
