Clayton County Register, 27 May 1943.

Burial services were held at St. Sebald cemetery, Monday, for Mrs. Anna Burkhard, 86, who had died Thursday, May 13, at her home in Waverly. The funeral service was held in the St. Paul's Lutheran church at Waverly.

The deceased was an aunt of C. J., Mary, and J. A. Huebsch of this vicinity. She was the wife of the late Rev. John Burkhard, who had been active in the Iowa Synod of the Lutheran church.

Surviving are three sons, Oscar who is on the faculty at the University of Minnesota; Herman of Chicago; Arthur of Cambridge, Mass.; one daughter, Mrs. J. R. Murrel of Houston, Texas; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
