Emily Jane Eveleth Burington, daughter of Amanda and Joseph Eveleth, was born near Volga Feb. 08, 1866, and died at her home in Volga Nov. 14, 1947, at the age of 81 years, nine months and 14 days.
On Jan. 01, 1888, she was married to John Burrington, who preceded her in death Jan. 31, 1934.
Mrs. Burrington had lived in and around Volga all her life.
Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Eva Jennings of Volga and Mrs. Fred Wenger of Emmetsburg; also three grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and a host of friends.
Services were held Sunday at 2 p.m. at the home, with the Rev. L. J. Faris, Methodist pastor, in charge. Burial was in Hill Crest cemetery, Volga.
Casket bearers were: Claude Bachtell, Valmah, Bachtell, Dean Squires, Arlington; W. M. Hoskyn, D. J. Crain, and Lyle Jennings, Volga.
Among those from out of town who attended the funeral were: Mr. and Mrs. Fred Wenger, Emmetsburg; Mr. and Mrs. Karl Peterman, Mrs. E. Wescott, and Mrs. Bert Lamphier, Oelwein; Mr. and Mrs. F. B. Burrington, Mrs. Geo. Bassett, Mr. and Mrs. Dean Squires, Mrs. Ross Ridenour, Mr. and Mrs. S. Koehler, Mr. and Mrs. Carl Koehler, and Mrs. Minnie Bowen, Arlington.
