Funeral services for John Frederick Jungblut, 65, who died Friday, Nov. 14, after seven years of ill health, were held at the Witt Funeral Chapel at 1:30 o'clock Monday afternoon, Nov. 17. The Very Rev. B. H. Skahill officiated. Burial was in St. Joseph's cemetery.
John Frederick Jungblut was born at Clayton Center, Iowa, Dec. 09, 1881, the son of Henry and Elizabeth Jungblut. He received his education in the Clayton Center school. He was married April 09, 1912 at Dubuque to Sarah Tujetsch of Elkader. The home has been made in Elkader where Mr. Jungblut was employed by the C.M. and St.P. Railroad company. For many years he served as a member of the Elkader Volunteer Fire Department. Surviving are his wife, and four sons, Melvin J. Jungblut, USNA, Great Lakes, Ill.; Elmer D. Jungblut, USNAS, Atlantic City, New Jersey; John R. Jungblut, March Field, Riverside, Calif.; and Kenneth Jungblut, Elkader; two brothers Fred, Monticello, William Jungblut, Guttenberg; one sister, Mrs. Anne Jungblut Hemphill, Tuscon, Ariz.; also three grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two children, Edwin D. and Sarah A., also his parents and one brother, Henry Jungblut.
Pallbearers were: Eldo Meyer, Henry Glawe, Donald Wolf, Richard Fassbinder, Richard Wolf and A. A. Shultz.
