Funeral services were held Monday, Oct. 20, for Otto Kjosa, Farmersburg, who died Oct. 17 of a heart ailment at a Prairie du Chien hospital at the age of 65 years, 11 months and four days. Services were held at the Norway Lutheran church.
Otto Kjosa, son of Halvor and Olma Kjosa, was born Nov. 01, 1881, in Wagner township. He was born and grew to manhood on the farm now occupied by Arthur Knuth, formerly owned by his grandfather and his father. He was baptized and confirmed in the Norway Lutheran church.
He was married to Caroline Houg, June 04, 1910, and they moved to Farmersburg, where he established a blacksmith and machine shop. To this union one son, Walter Orlando, was born.
Survivors include his wife; his son Walter and daughter-in-law Katherine, of Milwaukee, Wis., two grandsons, Dean and John; four brothers, Tov of Forest City, Gerhard of Lily, S.Dak., Theodore of Clermont, and Henry of St. Olaf; four sisters, Tillie Kjosa of St. Olaf, Ella, Mrs. Oliver Hoffland of Reeder, N.Dak., Mabel, Mrs. Arthur Knuth of St. Olaf, and Lillian, Mrs. Oliver Johnson of St. Olaf. besides a host of relatives and friends.
Relatives from out of town who attended the funeral were: Gerhard Kjosa, Webster, S.Dak., Mrs. Oliver Hofland, Reeder, N.Dak.; Thov Thovson, Mr. and Mrs. Harry Thovson and Mr. and Mrs. Willard Thovson, Forest City; Mr. and Mrs. Albert Hanson, Harpers Ferry; Mr. and Mrs. Harold Kellison, Lansing; Mr. and Mrs. Theodore Kjosa, Clermont.
