Merlin Walter.

Merlin Walter, son of Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Boehm, was born Aug. 18, 1923, near Elkport. In early infancy he was baptized into the Christian faith. His entire life was spent on the farm with the exception of 18 months when he worked in factories at Manchester and Dubuque.

Last Monday he suffered an acute attack of appendicitis about nine o'clock in the evening and was taken to Finley hospital, Dubuque, at midnight, where he underwent an operation Tuesday morning. He died Friday afternoon. He had reached the age of 23 years, 11 months and 13 days.

He is survived by his parents, one brother, William Jr., two grandmothers, and a number of uncles, aunts, and cousins.
