Betty Lou Nelson, infant daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence M. Nelson, died suddenly Wednesday, July 30, 1947, after a very brief illness. The exact cause of her death could not be determined. She had only been ill about 2 days. She was born on January 03, 1946, in Marion township, Clayton County, Iowa. At the time of her death she was 1 year, 6 months and 27 days of age.

Surviving besides her parents are three brothers, Victor H., Donald L., and Ronald G. Nelson, all of whom live with their parents on the farm near Elkader. There are also many other relatives of the family.

Funeral services were held Saturday, August 2, at the Witt Funeral Chapel at 2:00 p.m.

Burial was in the Norway Lutheran church cemetery in Wagner township. The Rev. S. J. Strandjord officiated at the funeral service.

The pallbearers were: Edward Kuehl, Jr., James Cook, George Lerch and Marvin Lantz.

The flower girls were Jeanine Cook, Janice Lantz, Judy Cook and Barbara Kuehl and they carried floral offerings which were placed on the grave.
