Funeral services for Mrs. Saward Henkes were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday in the McGregor Congregational church. Out of respect to her husband, County Supervisor Henkes, the doors of the court house were closed at noon Tuesday.
Mrs. Henkes died Sunday morning, July 27. Burial was at the McGregor cemetery.
Mable Bertha Davies, the daughter of Richard and Lena Davies, was born at Emmetsburg, Sept. 21, 1890.
She married Saward Henkes on February 09, 1911, and lived on a farm in Wagner township until 1922 when the couple moved to another farm in Mendon township. In 1927 they moved to McGregor where they were living at the time of Mrs. Henkes' death.
Mrs. Henkes is survived by her husband, one daughter, Mrs. Henry (Geraldine) Hendrickson, McGregor; a granddaughter, three brothers, Will, Leslie and Earl Davies, all of McGregor, and one half-brother, Charles Moody, Vancover, Washington.
