Nils A. Olson died Friday morning, July 10, shortly after suffering a stroke. He had been failing in health the last year.
Funeral services were held Monday, July 14, at the Witt chapel. Burial was at the Norway cemetery.
Mr. Olson lived his entire life in and near his birthplace, one-half mile from St. Olaf. He engaged in farming until a few years ago, when he retired from active work. He continued to live in his home on the farm until his death.
Nils A. Olson was born March 10, 1871. He was the son of Aslog and Gro Olson. December 09, 1895 he was married to Mary Olson and started farming on a farm adjoining his old home.
Three sons were born to them: Alph Glen Olson, Elkader, Millard Normal died in infancy, and Ira is living on the home farm.
Surviving besides his wife and two sons are: Ole A. Olson, Milwaukee, Ore.; Albert A. Olson, Forest City; Lars Nosby, Minneapolis; Oscar Olson, St. Olaf; Mrs. T. T. Loftsgard, Elgin; Mrs. Sarah Sonstegard, St. Olaf; and one granddaughter, Lavonda Olson
Preceding him in death were two brothers, Gulik Olson, Milton, N.Dak., Martin Olson, St. Olaf, and one sister, Astrid Jacobson, St. Olaf.
