Peter Feeney died Sunday afternoon, July 13, following a brief illness.
Mr. Feeney was born at Volga, Iowa, May 01, 1863, and lived his entire life in this community. He was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Jeremiah Feeney.
September 14, 1897, he was married to Fannie Hannon at Elkader, Iowa, who survives him. Six children were born to this union, Gerald at home; Mae, Mrs. Fred Schroeder, and Helen of Hartford, Wis.; Ralph of Strawberry Point; and Joe of Milwaukee; One daughter Anne, Mrs. L. A. Kass preceded him in death seven years ago.
Mr. Feeney was trustee of Boardman township for a number of years. He was active in the K. of C. and also a member of the Catholic order of Foresters for many years.
Funeral services were conducted Wednesday morning at 10 a.m., at St. Joseph's church, Elkader, with the Rev. B. H. Skahill officiating. Burial was in St. Joseph's cemetery.
Pallbearers were: Fred Kuehl, Ray Welsh, Frank Cox, Joe Cox, William Orr and Jake Walz.
Out of town relatives and friends attending the funeral were: Mrs. Mike Feeney, Mrs. John Hughes and Mrs. Pat McNamara, Chicago; Dr. J. Roder, Jim LaPont and Erwin Whelan, Milwaukee, Wis.; Mrs. Genevieve Heiden and daughter Lucille, Sioux Falls, S.Dak.; Mr. and Mrs. John Feeney and family, Prairie du Chien, Wis.; Wm. Orr, Clear Lake; and Mr. and Mrs. Greg A. Figge, Ossian.
