Lyman Sherman, son of Joseph and Jane Sherman, was born Sept. 23, 1865, on his farm in Highland township and died of a heart attack May 25, 1947, at the Lutheran home at Strawberry Point where he had been making his home.
His twin sister, Mrs. Elizabeth Roebuck of Waterloo, is the last survivor of the Sherman family. He is also survived by a number of nieces and nephews.
Services were at the Methodist church in Volga, Tuesday at 1 p.m. with interment in Hill Crest cemetery, Volga.
Pall bearers were: Joe Chapman, John Follon, Will Leete, James Meyers, Oaklin Probert and Fred Rinkert.
Mrs. W. K. Oldfather, Mrs. C. W. Kohls and Mrs. Leo Grether furnished the music.
