Funeral services for Mrs. Henry Possehl, 74, were held from the Witt Funeral chapel at 1:30 o'clock Thursday afternoon, Feb. 13, to the Peace Evangelical and Reformed church at 2:00 p.m., the Rev. Paul Kitterer officiating. Burial was in the East Side cemetery.
Mrs. Possehl died at her home in Boardman township Monday, Feb. 10, 1947. She had been in ill health for the past 10 years. The past four years she was confined to her home and the past two years she was forced to remain in bed.
Louise Klink Possehl was born in Cox Creek township on Dec. 03, 1872, the daughter of Peter and Elizabeth Claus Klink. She received her education in the rural schools near her home.
March 12, 1913, she was united in marriage to Henry Possehl at Elkader by the Rev. C. H. Franke. They went to housekeeping on a farm in Cox Creek township and later lived on a farm in Lodomillo township. In 1919 they moved to the farm in Boardman township which has since been their home.
Mrs. Possehl was a member of the Peace Evangelical and Reformed church.
She is survived by her Husband, one daughter, Mrs. Caesar (Luella) Westby of Elkader and one son, Henry Louis, and his wife who live on the home farm; also two sisters and two brothers: Mrs. Louis Lemka, Elkader, Mrs. Gusta Stahl, Oelwein, Louis Klink, Cedar Falls and Henry, Chicago; also one grandchild, Gene Louis Westby, Elkader. Preceding her in death were a son Elmer who died April 06, 1932; three sisters and three brothers.
Pallbearers were: Louis Lemka, Jr., Milton Klink, Leslie Klink, Rudy Possehl and Burdeen Possehl.
