Funeral services for Miss Coral Kauffman, 24, a former Elkader resident, were held at the First Methodist church in Colesburg on Saturday afternoon, Jan. 25. The Rev. Floyd R. Maynard, pastor, officiated. Burial was in the Brown cemetery at Colesburg.
Miss Kauffman died Wednesday, Jan. 22, in Sunny Crest sanitarium at Dubuque following an eight months' illness.
Coral, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Kauffman of Hanover, Ill., was born at Colesburg March 31, 1922, where she spent most of her life. She graduated from the Colesburg consolidated school in 1940, and later from the American Institute of Business in Des Moines.
Following her graduation, she was employed with the Fitch company in Des Moines. She later came to Elkader where she was employed in the Clayton county relief office for a time. Later she was clerk in the office of the appeal board. When that office closed she became assistant clerk in the office of the local draft board where she remained until last May when ill health forced her to resign.
Besides her parents, she is survived by a sister, Mrs. Harold (Jean) Miller of Colesburg, also two nieces and several nephews.
Relatives from here who attended the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. Robert Bush and Joy and Robert Bush of Iowa City.
