Funeral services for James Michael Monnahan, 64, were held Monday morning at 9:30 from the home of his niece, Phyliss Hand, to St. Joseph's church at 10 o'clock. The Rt. Rev. B. H. Skahill officiated at the requiem mass. Burial was in the Wadena Catholic cemetery with the Rev. Dorance Noonan of Volga officiating. Pall bearers were Gerald Feeney, Lewis McTaggart, John Ehrhardt, Thomas Walch and T. F. Emmerson.
Mr. Monnahan, a life-long resident of this community, died last Saturday, Jan. 18, at the McGregor hospital following a lingering illness.
The son of Michael and Mary Monnahan, he was born Aug. 17, 1882, at Wadena.
He is survived by two sisters, Mrs. William Doran, Oelwein, and Mrs. A. R. Bice, Peshtigo, Wis., and one brother, John, of Edgewood. He was preceded in death by four sisters: Mrs. Pat Bergen, Mrs. Harrison Smith, Mrs. Byrdella Taylor and Mrs. William Hand of Elkader.
