Clayton County Register, 27 Nov. 1940.
MONONA: Funeral services for Mrs. Anna Havlicek, aged 70 who died Thursday morning were held at nine o'clock Saturday morning from St. Patrick's Catholic church, with the Rev. Father Luke Donlon singing the mass of requiem. Burial was made beside her husband in the Bohemian cemetery.
Surviving are her one daughter, Miss Mary Havlicek who lived with her mother and Albert Havlicek, Jr., and Raymond Havlicek. Three grandchildren to whom she was both mother and grandmother after the death of their mother. They are Dorla Dean, Curtis and John Bothel.
Mrs. Havlicek was a home loving woman. Her life was filled with many sorrows, being called upon to give up first her daughter Anna, then Irene Bothel who left three children whom she counseled and advised in her motherly manner and then her eldest son, Charles Havlicek. Comforted by her religion she bore up bravely trusting and loving God. The weakened condition of her heart was the cause of her death.
The sympathy of the community is extended the bereaved.
Pallbearers were Joseph Jadlec, Joseph Geraghty, John E. Geraghty, Simon E. Moses, Frank J. Sudol, Joseph W. Lotza, Robert Bluck and Frank Klima.
