STRAWBERRY POINT: Funeral services for J. F. Hines, were held at the Gill's funeral chapel on Thursday afternoon, conducted by the Rev. Glenn S. Hartong, pastor of the Methodist church. Burial was made in the Cox Creek cemetery.
Jefferson Franklin Hines, son of Thomas and Louise Duncan Hines, was born in Missouri, Sept. 22, 1860 and died at the state hospital in Iowa City Monday evening where he had been taken 12 days ago. He came to this locality with his parents when a small child and has resided here since.
May 07, 1878, he was united in marriage to Mary Ann Carnicle. To this union three children were born. Two, Clifford of Central City and Mrs. Claude (Edna) Neuton of Manchester, have preceded their father in death. Surviving are his wife, one son, Otto, of Rock Island, Ill., seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; also two brothers and three sisters.
