Funeral services were held here this morning for Mrs. Chas. Peick, who died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Art Miller, at 1:30 a.m., Monday.
Mrs. Peick had been ill for some time and her death was not unexpected.
A short service of prayer was held at the Oelke mortuary after which the body was taken to the St. Joseph's church where Mass was sung by the Rt. Rev. Msgr. J. P. Taken. Burial was made in St. Joseph's cemetery.

Funeral services were held last Wednesday morning in St. Joseph's church for Mrs. Chas. Peick and burial was made in St. Joseph's cemetery, the Rt. Rev. Msgr. J. P. Taken officiating.
Anna Rachael Peick died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Art Miller on Nov. 18th after an illness of 16 weeks.
She was born Oct. 24, 1873, at Communia, the daughter of Fred and Ottilie (Dobrowsky) Hochhaus. February 14, 1893, she was united in marriage with Chas. Peick, at Communia. She was preceded in death by her husband in the fall of 1938, but is survived by three daughters, namely, Mrs. Joe Downey of Littleport; Mrs. Arthur Miller and Mrs. John Farrell, both of Elkader. Eight grandchildren also survive.
The greater part of Mrs. Peick's life was spent in this county, the last years here in Elkader. Her home, her family, her garden and her flowers were her pride and to these she gave her life liberally.
Those from a distance who attended the funeral services were: Mr. and Mrs. Joe Wick and Geraldine, Mrs. Bernice Oneyear and son Clark, Mr. and Mrs. Ben Geselbracht and daughter Jo Ann, Mrs. Art Geiger and Joe Schlitz, Mr. and Mrs. Walter Oakley, all of Dubuque.
Casketbearers were nephews: Roy, Ray, Arthur and George Hochhaus, Fred Bauer and Joe Schlitz.
