Franklin V. Kramer died at the home of his father-in-law, William Ehrhardt last week Tuesday, Nov. 12, at the age of 29 years, seven months and 25 days.
Franklin Valmah Kramer was born in Cox Creek township, this county, on March 17, 1911, the son of Valmah C. and Louise Kramer. He spent his entire life in this community. He graduated from the public schools and attended high school for two years after which he took up farming.
On December 12, 1933 he was united in marriage with Lanelle Ehrhardt and the following year they moved to a farm in Cox Creek township which he farmed until he became to ill. One child, Sharon Kay, was born to this union.
About a year ago he became ill with Malta fever and although medical skill was called upon be became steadily worse until death followed.
He was a member of the Frieden's Evangelical church here and the Royal Neighbors. For ten years he was a 4-H club member.
He leaves to mourn his death his widow and daughter, his mother of Elkader, one brother, Alfred of Volga and one sister, Marie of Elkader besides a large circle of friends.
Funeral services were held Friday afternoon at the Ehrhardt home and the Frieden's Evangelical church and burial was made in the East Side cemetery, the Rev. P. Kitterer officiating. Casketbearers were: Merle Peny, Melvin Scott, Jack Leonard, Albert Bushkofsky, Milton Lange, and Lester Stahl.
