Orval H. Radach, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Edward W. Radach, was born at Read; now Clayton Center, April 06, 1909. He came here with his parents when they entered the mercantile business in Luana, a mere school boy, entering our schools, graduating and assisting his parents in the store.

About 1936 he entered the Luana Savings Bank and under the guidance of Cashier C. B. Davenport, mastered the business and was chosen cashier of the Frederika Farmers Savings Bank in 1938.

His death was the result of injuries sustained when his auto crashed into a truck driven by Brown L. Merton of Charles City, Saturday night, Nov. 09th during a rain storm when visibility was bad, just south of New Hampton.

He was taken to a New Hampton hospital where he died the following Thursday morning.

March 19, 1930, he was united in marriage with Miss Mabel Bugenhagen, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Bugenhagen of Luana. She was a schoolmate of his graduating later from the Luana high school. She, together with her two children, Janice, eight years, and Gary Gene, two years, his parents and aged Grandma Wiedemeyer are left to mourn his untimely death.

Funeral services occurred Sunday morning at Eleven o'clock in the St. John's Lutheran church in Frederika, with the Rev. Adolph Rink, pastor, officiating and about 2:30 p.m. the body was brought to Luana and burial was made in the St. John's Lutheran cemetery, the Rev. Paul Adix performing the last rites at the grave.
