Volga: Mrs. Louis (Edna) Preuss was born at Radcliffe, Iowa, Sept. 19, 1889, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George Trout. She spent her girlhood in Iowa and South Dakota. On Jan. 04, 191_, she was united in marriage to Louis Preuss; from that date until 1917 they resided in South Dakota, then moved to Volga.

Mrs. Preuss was a member of the Volga Presbyterian church.

After a brief illness due to blood poisoning, she died, Oct. 24 at the age of 51 years, 1 month and 5 days.

A daughter Maxine preceded her in death.

She is survived by her husband, three sons and two daughters; Lloyd, Donald and Edward of Volga City; Mrs. Paul Weger, Strawberry Point and Irene of Chicago, and three grandchildren; also one sister, Mrs. Cora Shierholz, Canova, S.D., and two brothers, William Trout, Mitchell, S.D., and Clarence Trout, Marshalltown.

Funeral services were held Oct. 26 at the Presbyterian church with the pastor, Rev. R. P. Nelson in charge. The casketbearers were: Howard Taylor, Howard Borden, Oscar Lamphier, John Biedermann, William Ewing, and Edwin Berse.

Out-of-town relatives and friends who attended the funeral were: Mrs. William Shierholz, Canova, S.D.; William Trout, Jack and Doris, Mitchell, S.D.; Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Trout, Marshalltown; Mrs. Thelma Mac Intyre and son Tommy, Tama; Mrs. Lucille Weatherman and Mr. and Mrs. Merle Trout, Waterloo; Mr. and Mrs. Helmuth Preuss and son Roger, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Preuss, Paul Preuss, Mrs. Charles Renswanz, Mrs. Freda Morlock, Mr. and Mrs. Lester Shackle, all of Chicago; Mr. and Mrs. Herman Preuss, Mrs. Bernice Gruel and Shirley, Monona; Mrs. Alice Doering, Luana; Mr. and Mrs. Mike Eder, Mr. and Mrs. Helmuth Eder, Mrs. Alvin Waring, Strawberry Point; Mrs. Mayme Molumby, Wadena; Mr. and Mrs. James Bowles, Arlington.
