Funeral services were conducted last Sunday afternoon in Immanuel Lutheran church in Elkport for Herman Zittergruen by the Rev. Paul Kenyon. Burial was made in the Mt. Harmony cemetery with the following casket-bearers: Emil, Louis, Elmer, William, Arnold and Edward Zittergruen, all brothers.
Herman Theodore Erich Zittergruen was born Nov. 13, 1885, in Volga township. He was baptized at an early age and was confirmed April 08, 1900, in Immanuel Lutheran church, Elkport. Throughout his life he lived in Garber and vicinity and several weeks ago was forced to his bed by a serious illness. On Friday, Oct. 11, at 1:45 a.m. he died, having reached the age of 54 years, 10 months and 28 days.
He leaves to mourn his death his mother, Mrs. Charles Zittergruen, Sr., seven brothers: Elmer, Louis, William, Charles and Emil all of Garber and Arnold and Edward, both of Elkport, two sisters, Mrs. Adam Thein of Elkport and Mrs. Norman Nichols of Greeley besides 25 nieces and nephews.
