Mrs. William Brinkhouse died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. M. H. McTaggart, last Saturday at 2:00 p.m. after ailing for about a year.

Ila Voss Brinkhouse was born September 08, 1860, in Germany and so, at the time of her death, had reached the age of 80 years and 20 days. At the age of six years she came to America with her parents and settled with them here in Clayton county, where she has lived ever since.

November 27, 1883, at Mederville, she was united in marriage with William Brinkhouse, who preceded her in death on March 10th, 1937. Four years ago she came to Elkader with her daughter, with whom she made her home.

Besides the only daughter, Mrs. McTaggart, she is survived by five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held last Monday in St. Joseph's church and burial was made in Mederville cemetery, The Rt. Rev. Msgr. J. P. Taken officiating.

Casketbearers were: Merritt Alderson, John Leonard, Joe McTaggart, M. F. Leonard, Harry Kramer and John McTaggart.
