MONONA: Funeral services for Miss Mary Ulish*, aged 81, were held Wednesday afternoon from the Schultz funeral home with the Rev. Harvey W. Raduege officiating and burial was made in the Council Hill cemetery.
Miss Ulish died at the home of Mr. and Mrs. A. J. Wagner Monday night after an illness of several months, having suffered a stroke.
She was born Aug. 24, 1859, in Giard township on the old home farm now owned by John G. Ulish. She attended school and the Watson Evangelical church. Fifty years ago she went to Chicago where she was employed by one family for 35 years, returning to Monona 9 years ago.
Miss Ulish was the last living member of her family as her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Caspar Ulish, three sisters, Mrs. Susan Tayek, Mrs. Kate Johnson and Mrs. Lovina Kruse and two brothers, Louis and Philip Ulish of Monona, preceded her in death.
Pallbearers were: Harle S. Rittenhouse, Frank V. Blaha, Patrick J. English, John J. Reidel, Sr., Paul P. Schofield and William Ihde.
