Monona: Mrs. Clara Ramacher died Sunday. Funeral services were held at the local funeral home at nine o'clock, Tuesday morning, with the Rev. Father Luke Donlon saying the prayers and giving the sermon. She was thirty years old. Burial was made in the Catholic cemetery.
She is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joe Melcher and is also survived by a sister, Miss Grace Melcher, and two brothers, Roy Melcher of St. Olaf and Earl Melcher of Monona.
The sympathy of the community is extended the survivors.

There are several errors in the above obituary. Deceased was Grace (Melcher) Ramaker. Her sister was named Clara. A detailed obit was published in the Monona Leader, 8/22/1940 with the following additional info:
DOB = 4/4/1910 in Linton twp., Allamakee co.
Marriage = to Ralph Ramaker, 8/12/1933
Survive are husband & 3 children = Carl Joseph, Dorothy Ann & the infant yet unnamedAlso survived by parents, Mr. & Mrs. Joe Melcher; a sister Clara; 2 brothers, Roy & Earl; 3 uncles, John, Fred & Frank Melcher

Birth certificate (Ancestry database) of Eugene Ralph Ramaker, DOB 8/18/1940, to parents Ralph & Grace (Melcher) Ramaker; born full term, forceps birth. Mother had one additional live birth but infant now dead. This was Lucile .....
born prematurely shortly after Ralph & Grace married, per her 1933 death certificate: Lucile Agnes Ramaker, 9/7/1933-9/8/1933 d/o Ralph Ramaker & Grace Melcher, bur. Monona City cemetery.*Grace's gravestone spells her surname as RAYMAKER, but all mention I found of this family in Monona newspapers spell the name as RAMAKER.
