MONONA: Funeral services for William Frederick Figgie, aged 67, were held at two o'clock from the Figgie home Monday afternoon. Rev. H. W. Farnham officiated and burial was made in the Council Hill cemetery. Pallbearers were Frank R. Bothel, Otto Kolbe, Conrad Schlein, Harry S. Debes, Wendel Baskerville, Willis L. Bernhard, Horace H. Smith and Ed. Girot.
William Frederick Figgie was born Nov. 04, 1871, in Linton township and was the son of Frederick and Louisa Figgie. He attended the rural school and the old stone church and spent all his life on the farm until 1916 when he with his brother and sisters moved to Monona. He never married but lived a life devoted to his brothers and sisters. He was a generous giver to his church, the Methodist church. He was an honest man of very high character and numbered his friends by his acquaintances.
Surviving him are his two sisters, Misses Anna and Minnie Figgie, and two brothers, Fred and Henry Figgie. The community extends its sympathy to them in their bereavement.
