OSTERDOCK: Margaret Ellen Smith, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Geo. Smith, was born in Clayton county May 08, 1871. She died at her home April 27, 1940, at the age of 68 years, 11 months and 27 days, after a long illness.

She was united in marriage to Frank Harbaugh on March 25, 1891, moving to their new home near Osterdock where she lived until her death. The deceased was a kind and loving mother and leaves the following to mourn her death: her husband, Frank Harbaugh, one son, Willis, also one grandson, two sisters, Mrs. Larinda Moser of Osterdock and Mrs. Mae Walters of Colesburg, one brother, Robert Smith of Fayette, also a large number of nieces and nephews and a host of friends. One sister, Lenora Hansel, preceded her in death.

The funeral was held at Bethel with a large attendance. The Rev. H. Coovert of Guttenberg officiating.

Mr. and Mrs. John Hansel of Rockford, Ill., attended the funeral of their aunt, Mrs. Harbaugh, on Monday. They remained for a few days visit with other relatives.
