Funeral services for Mrs. Rebecca Hoag were held Tuesday afternoon at the Methodist church conducted by the Rev. Glenn S. Hartong. Hymns were sung by Mrs. B. W. Talcott and Mrs. Kenneth Esch with Mrs. H. H. Hofer playing the accompaniment. Pallbearers were Earl Knight, Carl W. Buls, Ray Kellogg, Walter Kingsland, George Tucker and George Scofield. Burial was made in the Strawberry Point cemetery.
As a daughter of Clark and Annie Thompson she was born at Strawberry Point on January 24, 1858 and died at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Moser Jr., Sunday morning where she had been making her home for the past six years. She was united in marriage to Edward H. Hoag on November 8, 1878. To this union were born three daughters.
Mrs. Hoag has always made her home here. She was a member of the Methodist church and Industrial Club and for many years a Sunday School teacher. Mr. Hoag passed away April 29, 1932, and a daughter, Frances R. Hoag on August 30, 1928. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. A, J. (Mildred) Sanders of Minneapolis and Miss Ida Mae Hoag, a teacher in the Deaconness School at Helena, Montana, and three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
