Funeral services for Mrs. Violet Gallager, 73, were held Saturday afternoon at the Rudnick home, Rev. J. F. Parsons of the Congregational church officiating. Burial was made in the Pleasant Grove cemetery. Mrs. Gallager died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Mae Rudnick, with whom she has made her home for several years, last Thursday following a short illness. She was born on a farm in Marion county, July 22, 18__ (looks like 1866), the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Johnson. She was married to John J. Gallager April 08th, 1887, at Lansing, Iowa. They moved to Nebraska, returning to Iowa ten years later, settling on a farm near Waukon, coming to McGregor 26 years ago. Her husband died in 1928. She is survived by one son, Roy of Minneiska, Minn., one daughter, Mrs. Rudnick, two grandchildren, three sisters and one brother.
