STRAWBERRY POINT: Funeral services for Mrs. Ferdinand Hoyer were held Wednesday afternoon at the Emanuel's Lutheran church, conducted by the Rev. Max O. Jahr. Mrs. Harold Linderwell and Miss Helene Jahr sang with Mrs. Don Tinker playing the accompaniment. The pall bearers were H. E. Huebner, Earl Nichols, Richard Laity, William Fredrick, Louie Fredrick and Otto Feulner. The body was placed in the receiving vault until spring when burial will be made in the Strawberry Point cemetery.
Johannah Felsh, daughter of Friedrich and Minnie Felsh, was born at Drengfurt, Germany, on Feb. 10, 1859, and died at her home here Sunday morning after a brief illness.
She was baptized in early infancy and confirmed in the Lutheran church at her birthplace. In 1882 she was married to Ferdinand Hoyer, also of Germany. After their marriage both were engaged in farm work on one of the large estates. In the fall of 1892 they came to this country and settled on a farm east of Strawberry Point. Later they purchased a farm south of town where they lived until 1919 when they retired and moved to town. They were privileged to celebrate their golden wedding anniversary. The husband died July 10, 1936. Surviving are the ten children: Fred and Carl of Strawberry Point; Gustav of Oxford Junction; Mrs. Jake (Marie) Accola of Davenport; Mrs. Walter (Elizabeth) Jewell of Edgewood; Mrs. Wm. (Helen) Groth of Guttenberg; Mrs. A. (Anna) Halx of Rock Island, Ill.; Mrs. Ernest (Lydia) Schug of Miles City, Mont.; Mrs. Fred (Martha) Hoskyn of Stuttgart, Ark.; and Milton of Springfield, Mo.; also 37 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren, and one brother, Otto Felsh of Leona, Wis.
