Funeral services were held here last Monday morning for Nicholas Thillen, from the McTaggart funeral home to St. Joseph's church, where the Rt. Rev. Msgr. J. P. Taken celebrated requiem mass. Burial was made in St. Joseph's cemetery.

Mr. Thillen was born August 30, 1873, on a farm in this township, and he spent his entire life in this county. For 27 years he was assessor for this township.

He died at his farm on the Gunder road last Thursday night, following a long illness, at the age of 67 years.

Surviving are: John of Altadena, Calif., Fred and Mary at home, and Emma of Chicago, Ill.
